Banking question (電匯)

請教各位大大  有沒有人從美國匯款回台灣的經驗的ㄋ  
我想請問的是wiring fee

我以前都在Washington Mutual匯 可是每筆手續費得付USD$40.-
好傷阿....

有沒有人知道有便宜一點的bankㄋ

找華人的銀行. 每一筆錢的手續費不超過10塊錢

真的?!!?!! 那真是太好了...

可不可以再請大大再更明確一點
譬如說是哪幾家"華人銀行"ㄋ?

我剛上網看了一下這個很不熟悉的Western Union
好像不是傳統的銀行厚....
ㄟ 不是很聰明的我 須要花點時間investigate一下....

Western Union是不是專門在辦money order的那家
因為覺得名字很熟析...

可能是喔  Bill .....

我剛又瀏覽了一下他們的website
發現他們所謂的"agent"竟然是在
Liquor Stores, Safeway, Rite Aid, 7-11 ...   
嚇了我一跳
所以 應該就是你聽過的money order吧
應該是蠻有名的呦 要不然 你跟Hua大大都聽過....

Washington Mutual 's new "WaMu" account is free for all wire transfer....
I tried it before, it works.
BUT....TW's bank still will charge the receiver.....

For the information I've learned from the teller is that I need to
open a PERSONAL CHECKING ACCOUNT to get to wire $ overseas
for fee of charge. However, this free offer limits TWICE a year.

Although I know it's free to open a checking account, I had just canceled my personal
checking account for two reasons : 1. My previous checking account, which I rarely used
and didn't really need, always goofed up with my ATM experiences and 2. I already have
a joined checking account with my husband so I don't need more to make my life more
complicated.

Anyway, thank you for reminding me. I think I will just go talk to WM to figure out:
Why can't I get to wire $ overseas for free with my joined checking account?

Will share with you with my experience if you happen to be interested in the result.

Oh, at the time I wanted to wire the money, I already owned a old Washington Mutual account..., but they helped me transfered it to a new WaMu account so I could enjoy the free
wire transfer feature.  Maybe you can ask them if they would do the same thing to your account.
Although is only twice a year, I still think is pretty good cuz you can also wire $$ for free
within U.S.  and alot of other good features.
But to be honest, I have that account just to have it, my major account is still with Wellsfargo cuz they have great online pay system.
