Greeting. This is Chih-wei Chen from Taiwan. I am fortunately accepted by SJSU's admission office for the graduate program in instructional technology(IT), and I am determined to start my academic journey to San Jose in Spring 2006. It is so pleased to find USTSU forum out so that I can contact with kind people like you who can provide me a variety of informations about being a student in SJSU and so forth.

As matter of fact, I am unfamiliar with San Jose because I've never been here and I have no friends and relatives who live here. Therefore,  I am looking forward to hearing good news that somebody is kindly able to  help me deal with the house rent, arriving pick-up, checking in with SJSU and IPS, and so forth. I do appreciate for that great assistance. Thanks.

很高興認識各位...看到不少朋友這麼熱心，除了感恩還是感恩!

小弟即將於元月十日飛往聖荷西機場，目前HOUSE、接機事宜皆有著落

只知道住所位於21 St.，但不確定是哪個區塊

往後在SAN JOSE的食衣住行等生活資訊得多項各位前輩們請益指教


現在比較疑惑的地方是關於學校註冊的事情

能請SJSU的學長姐出面指點迷津嗎? ( IT的更佳 )

因目前學校註冊是於PRIORITY REG階段

WELCH 念的是 INSTRUCTIONAL TECH M.A. PROGRAM

可是對於該選修的課程只了解PREREQUISITE的部份必選

而PROGRAM相關的課程(必修、選修)雖然有自我初步了解，但仍卻不知道如何抉擇

特別是UPPER DIVISION COURSEs以及他系其他課程(英語寫作、會話之類)也不了解

PRI REG即將於12月22日結束，請問我是否該等人到達SAN JOSE之後

再前往ISO、IT系所向ACADEMIC ADVISOR或系上的FACULTY詳談再去選課註冊?

我不是你們所的.
不過選課的話.. 因該是你來了後去找你的advisor詳談.
因為你大學的課能抵多少這都要由advisor決定.

priority reg 是依據你在學校時間的長短來決定,
graduating senior 是最先選的.
所以你的priority當然就是最後面的,因為你是第一學期,
那你也就別太擔心選課的事.

至於英文方面來了以後要考wst(writing skill test)來決定你的英文課上哪個level.
因該是只有寫作課是一定要上的.
會話方面因該就是esl的範圍.

總而言之,來了以後先去找你的advisor討論選課的是.
你們那所漫小的,系主任好像就是advisor.
