The Press Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York is pleased to announce that it is once again time for our annual quiz to promote awareness of Taiwan’s 13th-annual bid for UN representation.
Here’s how it works: Five multiple-choice questions will be posted to our website each Monday beginning August 29, 2005, and will change weekly for 3 weeks. September 18th is the last day of our quiz. 15 winners will be randomly selected each week from those who answer the questions correctly. Winners will be given various prizes, including books of commemorative stamps from Taiwan and the DVD’s “Treasures of Taiwan” and “Taiwan-Where Mountains Meet the Sea.” At the end of the campaign, an additional six lucky winners will be selected from all of the participants and awarded a 512MB flash drive!
For more information about Taiwan’s bid for UN representation, and to participate in the quiz, please visit our website at http://www.taipei.org , or enter directly at http://th.gio.gov.tw/ny/un2005/ , and follow the simple instructions.
New this year! Would you like an iPod Shuffle? Taipei.org is interested in hearing your ideas about ways we can use the Internet to raise awareness of Taiwan’s quest to be allowed participation in the UN and other world bodies. In the past we have sponsored online quizzes, essay competitions, crossword puzzles, webpage competitions and online petitions. If you have fresh ideas for us, we’d love to hear them! Please email idea@taipei.org and tell us what your idea is, what you think the target audience should be, and what incentives you think might motivate others to participate. The three best ideas will be rewarded with an iPod Shuffle!
In addition to names and contact information (e-mail, phone number and mailing address), all entries must include a brief explanation of the campaign format, how you think your campaign idea should be executed, the target audience, incentives to encourage participation, ways to promote the campaign, and a rough budget estimate.
All entries must be emailed to us in English between August 29 and September 18, 2005.
Also, don’t forget to sign a petition supporting Taiwan’s quest to gain participation in the UN. Go to http://www.gopetition.com/online/6889.html and lend your support. Every signature matters!
Ready to start? We wish you the best of luck! |
