First of all, partitioning hard drive will destroy all the data on your drive. So, make sure you do a back-up before proceeding.
I think you can partition your hard drive by re-installing Windows XP/2000. During the installation process, you will be able to specify how many partitions you want on your hard drive and their sizes. When choosing file system format, I think NTFS is better than FAT32.
There might be ways to partition your hard drive inside Windows (via Windows system tools or some partitioning software, ie. partition magic), but I'd prefer doing it outside of Windows. I look at installing operating system like building a house. The hard drive is like the foundation, and the OS is like the house. I would not work on the foundation with the house already built on it :) |
