關於國際學生開學的一些鎖事, 有沒有人可以告訴我

大家好:
       我是要就讀SJSU的 TESOL program, 最近已經開始選課了, 可是我登入MySJSU, 我有一個HOLD, 就是要我先買學生保險不然我不能註冊, 我想請問的是, 我不能註冊, 但我現在可不可以先選課呢?
       第二: 我想請問, 選課有沒有handbook之類的, 不然我怎麼知道有哪些課程可以選, 還是在MySJSU上都可以看的到呢?
       第三: 應該市可以直接上 www.csuhealthlink.com 直接購買學生保險, 可是我是了好幾天, 我一直連不上去耶..在MySJSU裡,因為我的hold的關係, 也請我跟她們連絡, 我已寫了mail...但是沒有回音..
        所以我現在該怎麼辦? 可以先選課嗎?

1. You will not be able to do anything until the insurance hold is removed. Call the international Student Offfice, they will be glad to assist you. http://www.sjsu.edu/depts/ipss/
2. You can either buy a class schedule from SJSU bookstore or go to http://info.sjsu.edu/home/schedules.html.
3. You should try to bug whoever you think can help you.

理論上應該是可以waive學校的保險，請詢問學校的health center。
我之前在東岸讀書就是waive學校保險，然後apply PSI的保險，透過網路申請，手續蠻方便的。
可是請先詳細核對保險內容，考慮適合的保險內容及醫院。

SJSU has very strict requirements on the insurance policy for international student, so not many commercial insurance company can qualify. For example, California Blue Cross, Blue Shield, or Health Net, they don't have policy that fulfill SJSU's requirements. If my memory serves me right, one of the requirements is to cover transportation back to your home country if something very BAD (you know what I meant) happen to the beneficiary. Thats why most international students just go with the insurance policy SJSU suggested to save the trouble.

If you really want to use other insurance companies, you must consult with the international student office first.

              Thank you for all your messages. I had some luck to access that website at home today. I believe there was some kind of connecting problem.
              Ya, and I think I will just got for SJSU's insurance, it should be much eaiser. I wonder
do I buy just fall semester insurance or buy annual insurance. According to Internatinoal Office, it says students should buy insurance every semester. SO, I guess I just buy FALL 2007 for now?
               I will try to call school tmw, I haven't got anything from them, also I will try yo purchase the insurance online. Thank you all very much, I appreciate.

How much did you pay for the one semester insurance?

要買一年或半年的都可以啦, Fall 2007 的保費約 US$370 吧
有錢直接買一年比較省事, 每個學期都一定會查, 如果沒有就會有 Hold,
就不行選課啦。
