The California State University, East Bay community grieves today following the death of Charlene Abendroth, longtime lecturer in the College of Business and Economics. She and husband Ernest Scherer were found dead in their Pleasanton home last Friday.
"Ernest and Charlene werebrutally beaten," said Sgt. Scott Dudek, a homicide investigator forthe Alameda County Sheriff's Department, who added that the couple'sadult son and daughter "are devastated by the murders."
