From 1990-1998, he guided California's fiscal affairs. As vice-Chairman of the State Board of Equalization, he was recognized for his innovative and cost-effective leadership running the nation's largest tax agency. Winning in 1994 with over 4 million votes, Matt was elected as state Treasurer in the 7th largest economy in the world, the state of California. In 1998, Matt was the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate race in California. He lost the general election to incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer. He also served on the transition team for Gov. Schwarzenegger and was the national co-chairman of the Bush-Cheney '04 National APA coalition;

Mr. Partick Kwok was elected to the Cupertino City Council in 2001. He was elected by the council as vice-mayor in November 2003, and as mayor in 2004.
