Their magazines and radio are really good, live and living.
Any language is living, not dead, so learn a language from living people, not from dead books only.

buy some dvd movies, take out the subtitles sometimes, so you can hear and remember.
if all of these don't work, then come here usa, find a friend who can speak both mandarin and english AND who HAS SOME REAL AMERICAN FRIENDS.
You can make all kinds of friends, but you want to find some friends that help you to learn!!!
That is to say don't stay with friends who only have Taiwan friends,
and don't stay with only American friends ...
